Tarangire National Park is located in the northern part of Tanzania and is one of the country’s most beautiful safari destinations. It is known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees and remarkable wildlife. The park’s landscape includes open grasslands, acacia woodlands, seasonal wetlands and the Tarangire River, which provides an important water source for animals during the dry season.
A safari in Tarangire offers excellent opportunities to see lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, antelopes and a wide variety of birdlife. With fewer visitors than some of Tanzania’s more famous parks, Tarangire provides a peaceful and intimate wildlife experience. It can be visited on its own or combined with Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti.
Tarangire National Park is special because it combines spectacular scenery, rich wildlife and a peaceful safari atmosphere. Located in northern Tanzania, the park is famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees and the Tarangire River, where animals gather during the dry season.

On a Tarangire safari, expect exciting game drives through open grasslands, acacia woodlands and baobab-studded landscapes. You may see large herds of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes and antelopes, while your guide helps you understand the animals, plants and natural environment around you.
During the dry season, many animals gather near the Tarangire River and other water sources, creating excellent wildlife-viewing opportunities. You can also expect beautiful scenery, peaceful surroundings and plenty of birdlife. Each safari is different, so sightings cannot be guaranteed, but Tarangire offers memorable experiences throughout the year.
