Dolly Horse Riding takes place at Dolly Wildlife Estate in Maji ya Chai, near Usa River, approximately 45 minutes from Arusha, depending on traffic. This two-hour guided ride is a lovely way to enjoy nature and see wildlife from horseback before or after your safari.

You do not need previous riding experience. Both beginners and experienced riders are welcome, with the pace adapted to your ability. Beginners can enjoy a gentle ride along the estate’s trails, while more confident riders may have opportunities to ride faster under their guide’s direction.

Along the way, you may see zebras, wildebeest, eland, impala, and different birds. The estate also offers views of Mount Meru, with Mount Kilimanjaro sometimes visible on clear days. Wildlife sightings depend on where the animals are during your ride.

Rides are normally offered at 8:00 am, 10:30 am, and 4:30 pm, subject to availability. Allow extra time for transfers, as the two hours refer to the riding experience itself.

Wear comfortable long trousers and closed shoes, and bring sunscreen. Tell us your riding experience when booking so we can help arrange a suitable ride. If travelling with children, please share their ages so we can confirm participation requirements with the riding team.
