Your canoeing experience in Arusha National Park is included as part of your Arusha National Park game drive. During the day, your guide will take you to one of the park’s beautiful lakes, where you will begin the canoe activity.

You will paddle slowly across the calm water while enjoying the peaceful scenery of the park from a different perspective. This is a relaxing way to experience nature away from the vehicle and enjoy the quiet beauty of the lake.

As you canoe, you can listen to the many birds around the lake and enjoy excellent birdwatching opportunities. Depending on the season and wildlife movement, you may also be lucky to spot hippos, giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, flamingos, and other animals along the shore.

An armed ranger will accompany you during the canoeing activity. The ranger will guide the experience, explain more about the lake and wildlife, and help ensure your safety while you are on the water.

After the canoeing activity, you will continue with the rest of your Arusha National Park game drive, exploring more of the park’s landscapes, wildlife, and scenic viewpoints.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes, closed shoes or sandals, sunscreen, a hat, and bringing a camera or phone for photos. The activity may depend on weather, water conditions, and park safety regulations.
