The passion behind Tanzania Safari Experience was shaped over many years of learning, working, and refining the art of safari travel. After completing his medical studies, our founder and CEO, Laurent Karume, (famously known as Gustavo), chose a different path—one driven by people, nature, and storytelling.

He joined his brother’s tour company, starting as an IT specialist while also working closely as a safari specialist, learning every detail of trip planning, guiding, and guest experience.

Over the years, Laurent worked with several tour companies, gaining deep, hands-on knowledge of Tanzania’s wildlife, landscapes, and mountain routes. As both a safari and mountain guide, he spent countless days in the field, listening to guests, understanding their expectations, and crafting safaris that went beyond standard itineraries. Each journey strengthened his vision of creating something more personal, more thoughtful, and more authentic.

In 2013, driven by this long-term vision, he registered the domain Tanzania Safari Experience—the first concrete step toward building a company that reflected his own values and standards. After years of refining his skills, building trust with travelers, and perfecting safari design, that vision became a reality in 2025 with the official launch of Tanzania Safari Experience.

Today, the company stands as the result of years of dedication, learning, and passion—created to share Tanzania’s wildlife, landscapes, and Mount Kilimanjaro in a way shaped directly by guest feedback and real guiding experience.
