2 Days Mikumi Private Safari

Yes. Using the SGR train is one of the most comfortable ways to reach Mikumi National Park from Dar es Salaam without spending many hours driving on the road.

You will travel by SGR from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro. Once you arrive at Jakaya Kikwete SGR Station, our representative will meet you and transfer you by road to Mikumi National Park.

The road transfer from Morogoro to Mikumi normally takes around 1 to 2 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. This combination of SGR and private road transfer makes the journey much easier and more comfortable.

This is a fully private safari. You will not be placed in a safari vehicle with travelers from other bookings.

Your game drives are done in your own open sided 4×4 Land Cruiser with a professional safari guide. This gives you more freedom to spend time at wildlife sightings and move at a pace that suits you.

Yes. You will stay at Mikumi Wildlife Lodge, which is located inside Mikumi National Park.

Staying inside the park allows you to enjoy the atmosphere of Mikumi even after your main game drive has finished. You remain surrounded by the landscapes of the national park instead of driving back to accommodation outside the park.

The lodge also has a swimming pool and views across the surrounding area, making it a good place to relax after spending the day searching for wildlife.

You will have game drives on both days of the safari. Day 1 includes the main game drive after arriving in Mikumi National Park.

You will spend much of the day exploring different areas of the park with your private guide. Your guide will look for wildlife such as elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, and antelopes.

On Day 2, you will have another shorter morning game drive after breakfast before beginning your journey back to Morogoro for the SGR train to Dar es Salaam.

Mikumi National Park is home to a wide range of African wildlife and is particularly known for its open plains and large herbivore populations.

You may see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, warthogs, hippos, and several other species during your game drives. Lions are also present in Mikumi, along with other predators.
