Day 4: From the Plains to the Crater Rim
After a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, we journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, ascending to the crater rim for a night under the stars at Simba Campsite.
This is a day of movement and “bonus” wildlife sightings. As we exit the Serengeti, we keep our eyes peeled for cheetahs in the short-grass plains. We arrive at Simba Campsite by late afternoon.

The Crater is essentially a “zoo without fences.” It is the best place in Tanzania to spot the endangered Black Rhino. After a 6-hour floor tour, we return to Arusha for a visit to the Cultural Heritage Centre and the Central Market.
