Tanzania Itinerary 5 Days — Tanzania Safari

Your safari begins after breakfast in Arusha, where you meet your personal guide and set off toward Tarangire National Park. The drive takes around three hours, gradually transitioning from busy town life into open landscapes that hint at the wilderness ahead. By the time you reach the park gate, you already feel the shift—this is where the real Africa starts.

Tarangire is often underestimated, but that’s a mistake. It holds one of the largest elephant populations in Tanzania, and it doesn’t take long before you start seeing them—sometimes in massive herds moving slowly through the baobab-dotted terrain. These ancient trees, combined with the golden grasslands and winding Tarangire River, create one of the most visually striking environments in northern Tanzania.

As your game drive unfolds, you begin spotting a wide range of wildlife. Lions rest in the shade, giraffes move elegantly between trees, and herds of zebra and wildebeest cross your path. If you’re lucky, you might even encounter rarer species like kudu or oryx, which are not commonly seen in other parks.

Midway through the day, you stop for a picnic lunch under the shade of acacia trees. It’s a quiet moment surrounded by nature, often interrupted by distant animal calls or nearby wildlife activity. After lunch, the game drive continues, with your guide carefully tracking movement around water sources where animals tend to gather.
