Full Day Tsavo East Safari Itinerary From Diani Beach
Day Trip Schedule
05:00 AM โ Pick Up From Diani Beach Hotels
Your safari begins before sunrise with hotel pick up from your resort in Diani Beach. After meeting your professional safari guide, you will receive a short briefing before starting the drive towards Tsavo East National Park.
The early departure is important because animals are generally more active during the cooler morning hours.
As you leave the coastline behind, the scenery gradually changes from coastal vegetation to open countryside, providing an enjoyable introduction to Kenya’s diverse landscapes.
Morning Arrival at Tsavo East National Park
After arriving at the park, your first game drive begins immediately.
Morning is usually one of the best times to search for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, and predators before temperatures become warmer.
Your guide will explain animal behavior, identify bird species, and share interesting facts about the park’s ecosystem throughout the drive.
12:30 PM โ Lunch at a Safari Lodge
Around midday, you will stop at a safari lodge or camp for a buffet lunch.
This break provides an opportunity to relax, use the facilities, recharge your camera batteries if available, and enjoy views of the surrounding wilderness before continuing your adventure.
02:00 PM โ Afternoon Game Drive
Following lunch, you return to the park for another game drive.
Different animals become active at different times of the day, so the afternoon often brings new wildlife sightings that were not seen during the morning drive.
Your guide will continue tracking wildlife while explaining conservation efforts and the unique habitats found within Tsavo East.
03:30 PM โ Depart Tsavo East National Park
After completing your afternoon safari, you begin the drive back to Diani Beach.
Many guests spend the journey reviewing photographs and discussing their favorite wildlife encounters from the day.
Evening Arrival at Diani Beach
You arrive back at your hotel during the evening.
After a full day of wildlife viewing, you can relax knowing you experienced one of Kenya’s most famous national parks without needing to change hotels.
