A 2 Days Serval Wildlife Experience is ideal for travelers who want a relaxed wildlife stay with a full day at Serval Wildlife, an overnight at Serval Wildlife Lodge, and the chance to enjoy breakfast with giraffes the following morning.
Instead of visiting for only a few hours, this itinerary gives you time to enjoy the property without watching the clock. You travel from Arusha in the morning, spend the rest of the day at Serval Wildlife, stay overnight, and continue the experience the next morning.
The main reason we recommend staying overnight is the pace. Day visitors can experience Serval Wildlife, but staying at the lodge gives the trip a completely different rhythm. You can enjoy the surroundings in the afternoon and wake up already inside the property rather than making another early road transfer.
At Tanzania Safari Experience, we recommend this two day option for couples, families, honeymooners, photographers, and travelers who want a comfortable wildlife experience before or after a longer Tanzania safari.

Your safari is carefully planned to maximize wildlife viewing while still giving you time to relax and enjoy the journey. Here’s what you can expect day by day.
Your Serval Wildlife Experience begins in Arusha, where you will be collected and transferred to Serval Wildlife. We normally recommend leaving in the morning so you have enough time to reach the property comfortably and still have most of the day available for your wildlife experience.
The journey takes you away from the busy streets of Arusha and into the countryside of northern Tanzania. Rather than rushing directly into activities, arriving earlier gives you time to settle in and understand how the experience works.
After arrival, you will spend the rest of the day at Serval Wildlife. This is your opportunity to enjoy the wildlife environment, take photographs and participate in the experiences available during your visit.
One important thing to understand is that Serval Wildlife is different from a traditional national park safari. This experience is much more focused on closer wildlife encounters, while places such as Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro focus on finding completely wild animals across large natural ecosystems. Many travelers enjoy combining both styles during the same Tanzania holiday.
In the evening, you will stay overnight at Serval Wildlife Lodge. Staying here means there is no long return transfer to Arusha after your activities. You can simply enjoy the property, have a relaxed evening and prepare for your giraffe breakfast the following morning.
The second morning is one of the main reasons travelers choose the overnight Serval Wildlife Experience. Instead of waking up in Arusha and driving back to the property, you are already staying at Serval Wildlife and can begin your morning with the scheduled giraffe breakfast experience.
Breakfast with giraffes gives you the opportunity to enjoy breakfast while giraffes are nearby and interacting around the designated breakfast area. For many guests, this becomes one of the most photographed moments of the entire stay.
We recommend keeping your camera or phone ready before breakfast begins. Morning light is generally softer than strong midday light, making it easier to photograph both the giraffes and people without harsh shadows.
After breakfast and your final time at Serval Wildlife, you will prepare for departure. Your transfer will then take you back to Arusha, completing your 2 Days Serval Wildlife Experience.
This simple itinerary also works well when Arusha is only one stage of a longer Tanzania holiday. Depending on your wider travel plans, we can arrange the Serval Wildlife visit before or after your main safari.

We toured with Tanzania Safari Experience for an eight day trip to Tanzania. Five days of safari and then three days of beach vacation in Zanzibar. They were great to work with and customized everything exactly the way we wanted it. The lodges we were booked in were all incredible, particularly the Lahia Tented Lodge in the Serengeti. Our driver, Jay, seemed to know every road in every national park and as a result the wildlife viewing was unparalleled. There were times where we were the only vehicle seeing lions or hippos. The owner, Laurent, was extremely responsive and any issues we had in-country with our logistics were immediately sorted by him. He genuinely wanted us to have a first-rate experience. The only thing we were unprepared for is that some of the days in the safari vehicle were very long (10+ hours) and the roads can be really rough. But there were plenty of cold drinks in the car and it was worth it to see the wildlife. The safari/beach split was a great way to do the vacation and the beaches of Zanzibar were beautiful with clear blue water.
This company exceeded everything we’d hoped for. From the start, the tour operator had everything covered — a detailed itinerary laid out well in advance, quick responses to any questions, and a genuine attentiveness that made the whole thing feel effortless. The accommodation was seriously impressive. Not what I was expecting at all — comfortable, well-appointed, and luxurious. We also spent time right in the heart of the bush. A proper treat. The two people who really made this trip were our guide Mariki and photographer Agnes. Mariki’s knowledge of the bush and animal behaviour is something else — he always seemed to know exactly where to go, and his instincts paid off every single time. Agnes has a brilliant eye and captured shots we could never have got ourselves. As for the wildlife — we saw far more than we ever imagined we would. Elephants, lions, leopard, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, hippos — the lot. As a first safari, I couldn’t have asked for more. Would recommend without hesitation.
We had an amazing safari with Tanzania Safari Experience, and honestly the whole trip was put together really well by Laurent and his team. From our first message to the last day, they were easy to reach, quick to reply, and clear about everything. The plan made sense, the timing was smooth, and we didn’t have to stress about anything. Uncle J was a big part of what made it special. He knows the parks incredibly well and seems to notice things before anyone else. He’d position the vehicle perfectly for photos and often got us to sightings before the crowds built up. We were lucky to see [your highlights: migration / lions / cheetahs / elephants / a crossing], and every drive felt exciting and different. The vehicle was comfortable and in good shape, and everything ran on schedule. If you’re looking for a well-organized safari with a great guide, I’d definitely recommend Tanzania Safari Experience.

Planning a Tanzania safari often comes with important questions, from choosing the right travel season to understanding what to pack, where to stay, and what to expect each day. We have answered the questions travelers ask most often before booking, helping you prepare properly and plan your safari with confidence.
A two day Serval Wildlife experience is worth considering if you want to enjoy the property without turning the visit into a rushed excursion from Arusha. The overnight stay gives you more time around the wildlife environment and makes the giraffe breakfast the following morning a natural part of the trip.
The biggest difference is time.
With a short visit, your day is controlled by the road journey to and from Arusha. With an overnight stay, you arrive knowing that you do not have to drive back that evening.
That changes how the experience feels.
You can spend the afternoon enjoying the wildlife activities, take photographs without constantly checking departure time, have your evening at the lodge, and wake up for one of the most anticipated parts of the stay.
Expert Recommendation from Tanzania Safari Experience
If Serval Wildlife is one of the places you are particularly excited about visiting, we recommend staying overnight rather than treating it as a quick stop.
The additional time makes much more sense, especially when breakfast with giraffes is part of your plan.
Serval Wildlife is better understood as a close wildlife experience rather than a traditional game drive. The attraction is the opportunity to spend time around animals at much closer range than you would normally expect during a national park safari, while also enjoying the comfort of staying at the property overnight.
This distinction matters because travelers sometimes arrive expecting something similar to Serengeti.
It is not.
In Serengeti, your guide searches across a huge ecosystem for wild animals whose movements cannot be controlled. At Serval Wildlife, the experience is much more intimate and structured around close observation and interaction.
Neither experience needs to replace the other.
For travelers already planning Serengeti, Ngorongoro or Tarangire, Serval Wildlife can add a completely different type of wildlife experience to the journey.
Staying overnight at Serval Wildlife Lodge removes the pressure of completing the entire experience and driving back to Arusha on the same day. It also gives you access to the following morning experience without another early transfer, which is particularly useful when breakfast with giraffes is important to you.
For most travelers, this is the strongest reason to choose two days instead of a day trip.
You arrive once.
You enjoy the property.
You sleep there.
Then you wake up and continue the experience.
That sounds simple, but good safari planning is often about removing unnecessary road time.
Best Choice
Choose the overnight option if your main priority is enjoying Serval Wildlife itself rather than simply saying you visited.
The slower itinerary gives you more time for photography, relaxation and the giraffe breakfast.
Morning and afternoon can feel quite different at Serval Wildlife. Morning usually provides softer temperatures and gentler light for photography, while the afternoon gives you more time to explore after arriving from Arusha. Staying overnight allows you to experience both instead of choosing only one part of the day.
Morning is especially important on Day 2 because of the giraffe breakfast.
Light is generally softer, temperatures are usually more comfortable, and photography can be easier than under strong midday sunshine.
Having stayed overnight also means you do not need to wake up extremely early in Arusha and immediately start driving.
Midday conditions can become warmer and the sun can be stronger.
For photography, this means harsher shadows can appear, particularly when photographing faces or animals against bright backgrounds.
This is usually a good period to slow down rather than trying to photograph continuously.
The afternoon is when your Day 1 experience really begins.
Because you are staying overnight, you can enjoy this period without worrying about reaching Arusha before the end of the evening.
For us, that is one of the biggest advantages of this itinerary.
For a two day Serval Wildlife Experience, you only need a small amount of practical luggage. Comfortable clothes, closed or comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, a camera or phone, charging equipment and a light layer for the morning or evening will cover the needs of most travelers.
Bring sunscreen even if the weather feels comfortable when you leave Arusha.
Northern Tanzania sunshine can become strong quickly.
A hat and sunglasses are useful during outdoor activities.
For the overnight stay, you normally do not need heavy safari luggage unless Serval Wildlife is part of a longer journey.
If you are continuing directly into a safari afterward, we can plan your transfers so that your main luggage travels with you appropriately.
Yes. One night is enough for most travelers who want a complete Serval Wildlife Experience from Arusha. You can arrive during Day 1, spend most of the day at the property and stay overnight.
The next morning gives you another part of the experience, including breakfast with giraffes, without needing another road journey before breakfast.
Afterward, you can return to Arusha or continue with another part of your Tanzania itinerary.
Yes. Serval Wildlife can be visited from Arusha, which is why it works well for travelers beginning or ending their Tanzania journey in the city. Tanzania Safari Experience can arrange your transfer from Arusha to the property.
For an overnight itinerary, we recommend leaving Arusha in the morning so that the road transfer does not consume most of your first day.
After breakfast on Day 2, you will be transferred back to Arusha unless another destination has been arranged.
